Letters from various individuals to Herbert Harlakenden Gilchrist, 1880-1905.

The majority of the 27 letters are addressed to Herbert H. Gilchrist and written by various 19th century British artists (HM 54935-54958). Some of the letters deal with an art exhibition which H.H. Gilchrist was organizing in 1885, and discuss William Etty, Harry Furniss, George Romney, Linley Sambourne, Sir John Tenniel, and Walt Whitman. Two of the letters are addressed to Anne B. Gilchrist (HM 54933-54934) and one letter is addressed to Charles Green (HM 54944).
